  6.  As this year continues, as I have found a pretty neat old typewriter, a "new" Royal 470. This has been in use at a school, Lincoln Jr. High, as this was etched onto the sides and back of this machine.

I did a little searching to see what anyone from the Typosphere has on this, and it was pretty small. As this is not a review, as much as a end to the Royal Typewriter. As a lot of people just don't like the looks of it, as it is really plain, but the history of the machine goes back for decades.

This has a massive 16 inch platen for those Big Jobs, and a type font to easy reading. Heavy metal covers to show who's still in charge of the duties for typing for classes.

But for actually using it, it's fantastic, as it's been loved, but then neglected in it's original dust cover. The ink ribbon has dried out, some of the grease is stiff, and the paten is a bit firm.

All the great features that I have in my KMG are still here, but in the time of the Apollo Moon landings, this was here as a witness in school, for those who looked up from this typewriter saw humanity on another celestial body, a place that seems much further out for those in our present.
